The government of Ningbo, China honored Hyun Gyu Lee, CEO of Hanwha Chemical (Ningbo), at the 2020 Camelia Awards for his contributions to the citys economic and social development.
CEO Lee has a long history with Ningbo. He first came to help oversee the construction and equipping of Hanwha Chemicals plant here from 2008 to 2011. He returned in 2016, this time as plant manager. In December of 2019, he rose to head the company, which is Hanwhas largest presence in China and produces 300,000 tons of PVC annually.
Lees been instrumental in establishing a conscientious management culture based on Hanwhas “Trust and Loyalty” maxim and maintaining an impeccable safety record. He is also responsible for maintaining good relations with the Ningbo community, encouraging Korean employees immerse themselves in Chinese culture and the local community.

Sino-Korea Life Insurance is taking part in the launch of Ningbo Childrens Insurance, a new product line exclusively for children living in Ningbo, China. After an initial payment of just RMB 99, children can receive up to RMB 200,000 in reimbursements for medical expenses without submitting any receipts.
Ningbo Childrens Insurance is a part of the Ningbo city governments Critical Illness Guarantee, which makes sure residents receive the care they need without any worries. Applications are open to all minors in Ningbo, even those who arent registered with Chinas Social Security System.
Once theyre accepted into the program, young customers can receive seven different medical services at no extra cost, including annual physicals and dental exams.
An added benefit of Ningbo Childrens Insurance is that everything is handled online. By eschewing brick-and-mortar locations, the program greatly reduces operating costs and passes the savings onto the consumer.

- Hanwha Q CELLS GmbH Hanwha Q CELLS Becomes First to Receive New Quality-Control Certification
In Germany, Hanwha Q CELLS became the first solar-module manufacturer to receive “Quality Controlled PV” certification based on a new set of stringent standards from TÜV Rheinland, a leading testing service for industrial and high-tech processes.
Quality Controlled PV is the only certification protocol in the solar industry to require independent and random on-site inspections of production facilities and regular testing of raw materials. From now on, Hanwha Q CELLS will manufacture all products to Quality Controlled PV standards, starting with the Q.PEAK DUO-G9+ solar module.
With this certification, Hanwha Q CELLS will be subject to routine inspections by TÜV Rheinland to make sure the company is maintaining quality standards and ensuring all its products are reliable and durable for consumers.
“We continue to conduct and develop a number of additional test programs in parallel,” says Dr. Nicole Nelles, Head of Quality Management at Hanwha Q CELLS, “The aim is to integrate them into the Quality Controlled PV program so that it is continuously evolving with the times. We have set the industry standard, and we want to maintain that standard moving forward.”

Working with A.I. Tech, a developer with decades of experience in image-recognition systems, Hanwha Techwin launched the “Social Distance Measuring” application to make sure people are keeping enough space between themselves in public.
As the world grapples with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there is a continuing need to make sure people maintain social distancing. The new application provides an automated method of monitoring both indoor and outdoor locations that sounds an alert when occupancy limits are exceeded, and people start crowding around.
Social Distance Measuring has been integrated into Hanwha Techwin’s Wisenet WAVE Video Management Software, where users can customize the dashboard to meet their unique operational requirements. The app is also easily accessible from both desktop and mobile locations.
Together with the company s Occupancy Monitoring System, Social Distance Measuring is part of a suite of solutions packaged to help business owners cope with new requirements brought about by the pandemic.
