- Hanwha Energy USA Holdings Corporation Making It Official: Commemorating Hanwha’s Contributions to Oberon Solar
A permanent sign showcasing Oberon Solar powered by 174 Power Global, a leading solar energy company wholly owned by Hanwha Energy, was installed along Interstate 20 in Texas, one of the most heavily traveled roads in the United States.
Oberon Solar is a collaborative photovoltaic project between Hanwha Energy and 174 Power Global that occupies 1,200 acres of land in Western Texas. In June of 2019, construction of the solar facility began outside the town of Odessa in Ector County, Texas. Due to the abundance of natural sun the area receives, it was a suitable location for solar panel installation and ultimately selected for the project. After a year of construction, more than 560,000 Hanwha Qcells modules were installed on the site, making the solar facility one of the largest utility-scale solar generation facilities in the state. As a result, the project was welcomed by the local community due to the new business opportunities, such as many construction jobs for local residents and the large capital investment it provides to the surrounding areas. The facility is designed to last between 25 and 30 years, providing sustainable energy and benefits to residents for the present and future.
The solar cells generate 180 MW of power annually for the project, enough energy to provide benefits to over 30,000 homes in Texas. Of this total, 30 MW of power is provided to 174 Power Global subsidiary and Hanwha Energy affiliate Chariot Energy, a retail energy provider serving the deregulated Texas energy market. With the aim of providing 100% renewable energy to its customers, this energy allows Chariot Energy to provide clean, renewable energy at an affordable price. These customers will be able to receive renewable energy without needing to pay upfront expenses for solar equipment.

- Pinetree Securities Pinetree Securities Continues to Expand Alliance Network and Brand Awareness in Vietnam
Pinetree Securities, a subsidiary of Hanwha Investment and Securities, is continuing to develop its digital finance tools and improve the investment experience for customers. As part of Pinetree Securities’ digital strategy to provide customers with a more convenient and efficient trading experience, the company is continuously looking to improve its services by utilizing digital technology.
During the second quarter of 2022, Pinetree Securities partnered with Vietcombank, one of the top four banks in Vietnam, as well as Woori Bank from South Korea to provide automatic deposit and withdrawal services to its customers. Since its inception in Vietnam, Pinetree Securities has worked with a total of eight banks to improve the speed and convenience of fund transferring services to help investors buy and sell stocks at the best price. A momentary delay in depositing funds can result in purchasing a stock at a much higher price, demonstrating the need for a reliable and consistent system. By connecting the core system of a securities company with the payment and collection system of a bank, all customer fund transfer requests will be processed automatically. This digitalization and automation of monetary services not only helps to serve customers better, but also reduces manual work for company employees.
Along with upgrades to its web trading system, Pinetree Securities has cooperated with a local finance news provider, Vietstock, to provide customers with real-time news related to stocks and the stock market. Financial news is categorized and shown to investors based on their stock watchlist and portfolio. This service provides investors with more opportunities for financial benefits, such as providing comprehensive updates on both listed and unlisted companies and analysis on hot stocks in the market. In addition, it allows users to save time in searching for information, enabling investors to invest at the right time by viewing personalized financial information.
Pinetree Securities has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lotte Finance Vietnam to cross-sell financial products and provide customers of both sides the opportunity to access a variety of financial tools and services from each company. In addition, this mutually beneficial relationship will help both companies increase their customer numbers and brand awareness in the Vietnamese market.
