- Hanwha Q ENERGY Solutions SE (QES) Q ENERGY: Driving the Energy Transition Forward in Europe
Q ENERGY, Hanwha Solutions’ European subsidiary, is answering the call for increased renewables capacity. Q ENERGY has been working to further the European energy transition, developing a multitude of clean energy projects around the continent. Its activities across solar, wind and energy storage systems will help to both expand green energy capacity and lower carbon emissions in Europe.
Stemming from the solar pioneer Qcells, Q ENERGY brings a wealth of experience in photovoltaic power plants from several European markets. With the team in France adding 20 years of experience in wind park development and the first storage projects under development in France and Portugal, Q ENERGY has swiftly taken the leap from a pure solar company into a full-scale green energy downstream player.
Since the launch of the company on July 1, 2022, Q ENERGY has been quickly developing – both in terms of its development portfolio of more than 12GW and as a company. Based on its strong market presence in Spain, France and Portugal, Q ENERGY has been growing its pipeline in Germany to nearly 1GW while moving into the Netherlands, Italy and the U.K. The company has signed co-development agreements with ENVIRIA Energy in Germany and Tomorrow Energy in the Netherlands and has launched a variety of notable renewable energy projects, including plans to build both the largest floating solar power plant and the commissioning of a wind farm in France.
With its growing team topping more than 350 people across seven European countries and high ambitions for the future, Q ENERGY will continue to expand its solar and wind businesses, both regionally and offshore, while furthering its business plans in green hydrogen.
Against the background of the European Union and national governments increasing their efforts to reach their climate targets, Q ENERGY is looking forward to the great opportunities ahead to drive the energy transition in Europe.
